The World Food Program (WFP) said on Wednesday on the occasion of International Day of Education that many children in Afghanistan go to school hungry.In a post on X, the organization said they distribute &WFP biscuits& to 700,000 male and female students every morning.According to WFP, distributing biscuits to school children encourages families to send their children to school.At the same time, Amnesty International has launched a campaign to support girls& education in Afghanistan.The organization said on Wednesday that on this day, Afghan girls share their stories and express both their heartbreak and hope, as their basic human right to education continues to be violated.Amnesty International has launched an online petition to support girls& education and asked education supporters and its audience around the world to sign this petition and expand the campaign to support girls& education.&The Taliban (IEA) must be held accountable for depriving millions of girls from seeking their right to education.The international community must not give up on girl&s education in Afghanistan,& Amnesty International said on X.Roza Otunbayeva, the head of the United Nations in Afghanistan (UNAMA), said that equal education in Afghanistan is not only a basic human right, but also the foundation of the country&s future.She said in a video message on the occasion of the World Education Day, the deprivation of Afghan girls from education will not only affect all Afghans, but will also isolate Afghanistan at the global level and the Islamic world.Otunbayeva said that equal education is necessary for an economically developed Afghanistan and a prosperous Afghan society.She added that girls& education is not only a demand of western countries but also a demand of Islamic countries and called on the Islamic Emirate to recognize education not only as a moral obligation but as a vital order for peace and well-being.The post UN on World Education Day: Many children in Afghanistan go to school hungry first appeared on Ariana News.
