NEW DELHI: Tying up one of the last remaining parts of their investigation into the allegations of sexual harassment against former Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh and secretary Vinod Tomar, Delhi Police on Friday took a woman wrestler, a complainant in one of the two FIRs, to his office in central Delhi in order to recreate the sequence of events that led to the alleged incident.The alleged incident happened in 2019 when the woman wrestler was visiting the federation office to enquire about the national camp and met Tomar.01:00WFI Chief Brij Bhushan Singh denies reports of Delhi Police visiting his residence"There, I met the secretary of the federation, Vinod Tomar.

During my visit to the federation office at 21, Ashoka Road, my brother was accompanying me.

After waiting for some time, I was called into the room of the accused.

However, my brother was categorically asked to stay back,” the woman wrestler has claimed in the FIR."As soon as I entered the office of the accused, some other persons who were present there were directed to leave the office immediately.

The accused, upon the departure of other persons, closed the door of his office and pulled me towards himself and tried making forceful physical contact with me," the complainant has alleged.She has said she was shocked and ran away from the office.

"He asked me for my personal mobile number at that time.

I decided to raise my voice against the sexual harassment meted out by the accused and constant mental harassment and sat on protest with other wrestlers at Jantar Mantar in January 2023, seeking action," she has said in the FIR.Sources said on Friday that this wrestler was escorted to the federation office by women cops from the SIT and asked to show the alleged spot and related things at the time of the incident.

The team was there for around 45 minutes.With most aspects of the investigation — including recording of statements of around 200 people — having been covered, the SIT is likely to submit its final report in court by next week.Why a father's u-turn will weaken case against Brij Bhushan Sharan SinghSources said that while the Pocso case may not stand now given the retraction by the wrestler and her father, police will still move court seeking further directions in the case.The wrestlers recently put on hold their protest till June 15 following meetings with Union home minister Amit Shah and sports minister Anurag Thakur after being assured of a fair investigation.

The grapplers have been demanding Singh's arrest which, cops said, was not required as the offences attract a term of less than seven years in jail and Singh has been cooperating with the investigation.The wrestlers have said they were promised that a chargesheet will be filed in the case till June 15 and WFI elections will be held by the end of the month.
