Rastriya Swatantra Party decides to quit govt RSP defers choice on giving up govt There are three ministers from the RSP in the Dahal-led Cabinet - Shishir Khanal, DP Aryal, and Toshima Karki.They tendered their resignation this evening.After the celebration meeting, Lamichhane held a press conference where he said his celebration would not withdraw support to the federal government since it did not wish to develop political instability.

He said his partys choice may change in future if they solved kind of power sharing deal.Lamichhane stated his party wanted the home portfolio since that became part of the power sharing deal which would have provided the celebration a platform to execute its poll promises related to service delivery.He stated he followed the Supreme Courts decision that annulled his election to the HoR on the ground that he did not get his Nepali citizenship brought back after renouncing his American citizenship.

He, however, revealed surprise that the SC, where 10 out of 15 cases associated to election had been pending for the previous five years, adjudicated his case quickly.On the passport controversy, Lamichhane said what he had already said publicly four years ago was being reported in the media.

I got my Nepali passport provided as lots of non-resident Nepalis did, but I never used or misused it, he included.

He stated if he was allowed to return as home minister, there would be no dispute of interest since he had not hidden anything from the government.Lamichhane said he may have made procedural errors while obtaining Nepali passport and he was ready to face its effects.

Even if I am put behind bars, the RSP will continue its political objective, he said.Lamichhane implicated media outlets of running unwarranted news reports against him to influence the SC decision.

He implicated media outlets of planting stories to get excessive gain from politicians and policymakers.
