KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 5The Rukum Paschim District Court has sentenced 24 individuals to lifetime imprisonment for their involvement in the killing of six persons at Sotigaun in Chaurjahari Municipality-8, Rukum Paschim district. The other victims of the incident were Ganesh Budha, Lokendra Sunar, Sanjib KC, and Govinda Shahi from Jajrkot, as well as Tika Ram Nepali from Chaurjahari Municipality in Rukum Paschim district. A single bench of District Judge Khadga Bahadur KC delivered the lifetime imprisonment verdict for 24 individuals involved in the crime, as stated by Information Officer Govinda Prasad Koirala of the District Court to the RSS.According to Koirala, Nabaraj's alleged girlfriend and two other members of her family have been fined Rs 50,000 each and sentenced to two years in jail for caste-based discrimination.A total of 34 persons were initially detained following a complaint lodged over the case.Nabaraj BK, a resident of Ranagau in Bheri Municipality, Jajarkot district, along with five friends, who had visited the house of BK's girlfriend in Sotigaun, were killed by the girl's family members and local villagers.

This brutal act was a result of the rejection of the nuptial tie between BK and his girlfriend from the Thakuri community.Twelve persons were injured in the harrowing incident, and the bodies of those killed were found in the Bheri River." .
