VIJAYAWADA: The YSRCP is likely to vote against the no confidence motion by the Congress and the BRS in Lok Sabha on Wednesday.
The other key party from Andhra Pradesh, the TDP, has not yet made its decision on the issue public.YSRCP has maintained friendly ties with the BJP at the Centre thus far and has been a strong source of support for the NDAin both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.YSRCP has 22 members in Lok Sabha and nine inRajya Sabha who have always bailed the BJP-led NDA out in crunch situations.Sources said chief minister Jagan Mohan Reddy would take a final call on the vote once the speaker permits a debate on the motion, but informally Jagan has indicated that his MPs would sail with the BJP.
However, a decision on whether to speak on the motion is yet to be taken.
Jagan is understood to have told his MPs to wait for the speakers decision.TDP, on the other hand, has not yet decided how its three members in Lok Sabha would vote.
The party leadership is also likely to take a decision once the speaker sets the date for discussion.
It was the TDP which had moved the no confidence motion against the NDA government in 2018, after the party walked out of the alliance on the demand for sanction of special category status to the state.
TDP member, Kesineni Srinivas, who moved the no confidence motion in the same monsoon session.The TDP is neither in the ruling NDA camp nor in the Congress-led opposition camp.
TDP chief and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, had met Union home minister Amit Shah sparking speculation of BJP and TDP joining hands again.
However, Naidu had stayed away when 38 parties had decided to support NDA at a meeting in Delhi earlier this month.
