KOCHI: Central police registered a case after a youth threatened suicide at the High Court complex on Monday.
According to police, Vishnu (31) of Thazhekad, Thrissur took out a pocket knife and tried to cut his wrist at the court complex.
The dramatic scenes prevailed at the court outside a Judge's Chamber after the court considered a Habeas Corpus petition filed by the father of a 23-year-old woman.A senior officer with the city police said that Vishnu was summoned to the court following the petition filed by the woman's father.
The woman was staying with him.
However, while considering the case, the woman expressed willingness to go with her parents."The youth went to take his bag after the court proceedings and took out a small pocket knife and slashed his wrist.
He was immediately taken to the hospital with a minor injury.
We have registered an FIR and launched a probe," said an officer.
Sources said that the man was later discharged from the hospital.Suicides are preventable and help is a phone call away.
